There is an awful lot of racing to go - 14 stages to be precise - but Craig Breen has made a great start and is well-placed for a good weekend at Rally Sweden.

Returning to drive part-time for Hyundai in 2023, the Slieverue man picked up where he left off when he was last behind the seat of the Korean-made car.

Sweden is the only fully-fledged snow rally this season with the driver able to avail of heavy drift banks as they corner at speed.

Breen has gone well in Sweden before. His 2nd place finish there for Citroen in 2018 is a joint best for the Waterford man on the WRC stage.

With four stages completed, Breen is currently in second place and well on the pace being set by Ott Tanak. Just 2 seconds separate the two former teammates.

Four stages remain this Friday and then it's on to two more hectic days of racing. The action kicks off on Saturday at 7 am Irish time with seven stages on offer, while Sunday it's three more stages to finish with the power stage included in those three.
