Craig Breen has secured a new seat for 2023.

Yesterday the news broke that Breen and M-Sport Ford had parted ways after one season together with the team referring to disappointing performances in the hybrid Puma. "Unfortunately the consistency wasn’t there to lead the team into 2023." said managing director Malcolm Wilson. Breen expressed his gratitude to the Cumbrian outfit saying it had been "an important season as my first full-time drive and to complete that in a Puma has been fantastic".

As is the way of things, the merry-go-round of drivers kicked off at the end of the season and Breen has returned to Hyundai. He had previously been a part of the Korean team as a part-time driver as recently as 2021.

He will be part of a four-man crew with three cars being run in the 2023 season. Thierry Neuville & Esapekka Lappi will take the full-time seats, while Breen and Spaniard Dani Sordo will occupy the two part-time seats and will rotate between rallies.

“Joining Hyundai Motorsport for the 2023 WRC season feels like a homecoming for me. We have secured some very memorable results together in the past, including several runner-up results, so hopefully I will be able to take that a step further. I have followed the team’s progress and development with interest this season, and I can see the momentum that has been building. Having the backing of a manufacturer team like Hyundai is special, and I’m sure we’ll have plenty more reasons to celebrate next season” said Breen.
