"I’m disappointed with the overall result."

Those are the words of Waterford's Craig Breen who had another weekend of bad luck at Rally Finland.

Having started the event well setting top five times on the opening day, the weekend would take a turn for the worst on stage 12.

Choosing the wrong line going over a crest his car came down awkwardly on the banking and ripped the rear side clean off the body. It forced him to retire and ultimately ended his hopes for a podium finish.

While he did make it back out on Sunday to finish out the event it was all too little too late. The four points he picked up on the power stage won't be sniffed at but it is another opportunity missed for Breen and his M-Sport Ford team.

The result follows other disappointing results at Sweden, Kenya and Estonia where a mix of mechanical issues and an unfortunately placed concrete bollard (Estonia) have combined to see him finish outside the desired point scoring places.

Attention now turns to Belgium and the Ypres Rally. Breen will be back on tarmac and should fancy his chances at restoring some of the points he's lost to date.
