Waterford FC got back to winning ways in style at the RSC last night when they hit Treaty United for seven without reply in their SSE Airtricity First Division clash.

Keith Long made three changes to the side that played out a scoreless draw in Longford with Ronan Coughlan coming back after suspension, Chris Conn Clarke started in place of Dean McMenamy while Tunmise Sobowale replaced the suspended Niall O Keeffe.

The opening goal came just 16 minutes in, when Chris Conn Clarke scored a find individual effort. He turned provider on 34 minutes, finding Shane Griffin with a lovely pass and he fired home. It was Griffin’s turn to provide an excellent corner on 38 minutes and captain Giles Philips headed home unchallenged. Sobowale added a fourth 5 minutes before the break while Ronan Coughlan headed home another Griffin corner a minute before the half time whistle.

It was six nil ten minutes into the second half when Coughlan broke down the right and found Griffin who fired home his second of the night and the evening was rounded off in injury time when Thomas Oluwa got his first for the club after he reacted quickest to a saved penalty from Roland Idowu.
