Peter Bryan arrived in Waterford from Oxford United during the golden era of the mid 60's and early 70's and went on to win five League of Ireland medals with Waterford FC.

A tough tacking full-back he played in goal for the Blues when they won the League Cup in 1974.

Regular netminder Peter Thomas was injured and he helped the team to a 2-1 victory over Finn Harps in Tolka Park.

Peter was the proprietor of a successful Sports Shop in Peter Street during his stay in Waterford.

He married Breda, a Co Kilkenny native and they had two children, Suzanne and David and along with Breda they were at Peter's bedside when he died on Thursday.

Peter became a highly successful real estate manager in the USA. The family reside in Rippling Springs, Nevada. Peter was 77 years old.
