Waterford’s Thomas Barr was back in action in the IAAF Diamond League meeting in Paris last night.

Despite running his second-best time of the season of 49.32 seconds in the 400 metres hurdles the Ferrybank AC athlete finished well down in 7th place.

The race was won in a very fast time of 47.26 by World Champion Karsten Warholm of Norway.

Thomas, however, heads the league points table with 25 points – one ahead of Warholm – and runs in Zurich on Thursday and should make the final in Brussels on September 6th.
