Player of the Match Beth Carton shot eight points as De La Salle retained their county senior camogie crown after a tough and tense battle with Gailltir in the Walsh Park sunshine on Saturday (0-9 to 0-8).
The three-time All Star struck the winner two minutes from time for Conor O'Toole's side.
For the fourth time in six years, only a puck of a ball separated these Eastern rivals on county final day. In a nail biting finish, Carton blocked down Orlaith Walsh and won a relieving free for her side.
Gailltir were guilty of six misses from placed balls over the hour. All Star nominee Annie Fitzgerald scored four points for the blue and navy.
Salle shaded the opening half 5-4 after playing with a slight breeze. It took Carton just 40 seconds to open her account from a long range free. Four frees and a point from play via the Player of the Year nominee saw the Gracedieu side lead 5-2 by the 23rd minute.
Annie Fitzgerald then started to run at the Salle defence and hit back to back points. Gailltir missed four first half frees as they trailed by one at the break.
The leaders sent on Kayleigh Kirby for the second period and she won two frees in the third quarter which Carton converted. Abby Flynn fired her first point of the day as Salle went four up on 37 minutes.
Gailltir made a triple substitution before Fitzgerald slotted their first second half single from a 45th minute free. In a hard hitting encounter, the blue and navy clawed their way back. Points from Annie Fitzgerald, Laoise Forrest and Emma Fitzgerald levelled the match at eight all with three minutes to play. Carton had the last word at the Keane's Road End as Salle held on for their second senior title.
