The Waterford manager says most of his time is being taken up with Sunday's climactic clash with Galway, however he's conscious of trying to involve his and his players families in the preparations.
"We're determined to involve the whole family, you know parents, etc." he told Eamonn Keane on 'Deise Today'.
"Getting the balance right between organised chaos and enjoyment is probably a fine balance in the McGrath household at the moment!"
He said he's also trying to prepare his son for any eventuality on Sunday.
"I'm going down the route of 'let's not rest on our laurels' and just be happy to be in the final, we have one more big step to take," he said, "but at the same time trying to provide a modicum of balance to his outlook on life by saying it's a good achievement as well."
"I owe him to be able to deal with elation or disappointment in equal measure."
