A Waterford woman has spoken of her experiences with the justice system in Ireland.

Miriam Henry now aged 37, originally from Dublin and Kerry, now lives in Waterford city.

On July 9th, her brother Gerald was found guilty of the habitual sexual abuse of Miriam and her older sister, Irene between 1994 and 1997.

Miriam was aged between six and 10 years of age at the time.

During sentencing, 43-year-old Gerald Henry was sentenced to 18 months, suspended for a period of three years.

Miriam spoke to WLR's Dymphna Nugent about the horror she endured, and the hope with which she moves forwards.
