Winner of the O’Carroll Bursary this year is Guitarist Martin Flynn from Kilmacow.

This initiative marks the beginning of a collaboration between Waterford Lions Club and the BA (Hons) Music programme at SETU. The bursary was created as an acknowledgement of the contribution of the O’Carroll family and particularly Dr. Kevin O’Carroll to the Waterford Lions Club Christmas Carol Concert for the past 30 years. The award includes a bespoke trophy based on a design by composer and musician Fintan O’Carroll and a bursary of €500. It is awarded on an annual basis to a student of the BA (Hons) Music programme at WIT who displays outstanding musicianship.

The presentation takes place tomorrow at 12.45 at the College St Chapel and will include performances from the winner Martin Flynn on Guitar and a host of Music Students, Lecturer, Dylan Bible, told Geoff what people can expect expect and introduced the winner on the Lunchbox today!
