The Blues did it.

After nine failed attempts at the Promotion/Relegation final, they climbed the mountain on Friday night in Tallaght and firmly planted their flag in the Premier Division.

Extra time was needed to decide the tie with the sides level on 1-all after 90 minutes.

Cork took the lead after an hour, but Conor Parsons took the game by the scruff of the neck minutes later to level it with a surefire goal of-the-season contender.

In extra time, Ronan Coughlan was dragged down inside the area, duly slotting home the ensuing penalty to secure the result.
