Waterford FC and Fleetwood Town played a friendly game at the RSC on Tuesday evening.

The English club are in Ireland for pre-season training prior to kicking off their League One campaign next month.

Fleetwood were comfortable 5-1 winners on the night, with the Blues fans delighted to see former star player Phoenix Patterson who took the time to sign autographs and take photos with the children in attendance.

Hanging over the proceedings, however, was the about-to-be-concluded saga of Andy Pilley's fraud trial.

The 52-year-old owner of both clubs was found guilty on four charges of fraud last month at the Preston Crown Court, and will now serve a 13-year prison term following his sentencing on Tuesday.

Pilley remains as owner of Waterford FC and is still listed as a director, but has stood away from his role as chairman of Fleetwood Town.
