The absence of a player's charter for female Gaelic games players in Ireland opens the door to significant cost and distress for both ladies football and camogie players

That's according to Waterford ladies football Captain Karen McGrath following yesterday's announcement that female inter-county players will play the rest of the season 'under protest'.

Their announcement comes as a consequence of no progress being made following a "State of Play" report released some 18 months ago.

Issues around expenses, availability of physios or doctors as well as lack of access to facilities continue to blight the women's game.

McGrath says not having an official charter creates many problems for women's players.
