Dungarvan jump jockey Niall Houlihan admits he's still coming to terms with the magnitude and significance of Saturday's Grade One success (the first of his career) in Cheltenham.
Houlihan featured on last night's "On The Ball" programme chatting to Gavin Whelan along with our Racing correspondent, Mark Phillips.
🏆 Huge congratulations to @niall_houli who rode his first Grade 1 winner this afternoon, with a brilliant front-running ride on Editeur Du Gite in the Albert Bartlett Clarence House Chase at @CheltenhamRaces
Well done Niall! 👏#jockeymilestones #Grade1 #winning pic.twitter.com/vHwae9pzcH— The PJA (@PJAOfficial) January 28, 2023
The biggest victory of his career to date came aboard Editeur Du Gite at odds of 14/1 to land the Grade One Clarence House Chase at the famous English venue.
The former Brickey Rangers GAA player is experiencing a rich vein of form at the moment as he secured his 59th career win last Saturday, it's certainly one he won't forget in a hurry!
Niall joined us for a chat to reflect on his wonderful victory, and I'm sure there are many more wins to come as the season progresses.
What a weekend for the Dungarvan jockey and 'Editeur du Gite' in Cheltenham! #Waterford #WLRSporthttps://t.co/OznMVOX5b5
