Ballyneg native Kelyn Cassidy is back in the ring on Friday for the National Senior Elite boxing championships light heavyweight semi-final.

The Saviours Crystals boxer aims to defend his title for the second time as he continues his drive for a spot at the Paris Olympics in 2024.

Cassidy was left disappointed at the European Games in the summer, losing his final to Oleksandr Khyzhniak.

He says that loss to Khyzhniak, while hard to take, was a brilliant learning experience.
