The Waterford Inner City Parent and Toddler group resumed its in-person meetings in recent weeks.

Babies who were born before and during the pandemic are finally getting to mix and mingle with their peers.

Reporter Aoife Kearns attended one of the weekly meetings and spoke with some of the parents about the benefits of the group for both adults and kids.

About the kids

Amy had her first child Hazel right before the country went into lockdown.

She told Aoife that her daughter wouldn't have had the opportunity to mix with many other children up until now.

Another mother, Chantelle, brought her daughter Rosemary along to the group and says up until now, she has only gotten to meet children her age in parks.

Meeting Information

The meetings are for children from birth up to four years. They take place every Wednesday from 10:30 - 12pm at Central Library in Lady Lane, Waterford City.
