A long-awaited report into the review of Mortuary services in University Hospital Waterford has been published.

The damning report finds that, contrary to the statement issued in 2019, hospital management were aware of the dangerous circumstances within the mortuary.

The report found that body bags were often not used, bodies were decomposing on trolleys with the smell radiating through the building, and the fridges were no longer fit for purpose.

Daragh McDonagh, journalist with the Irish Mirror spoke on Deise Today about the report.
