A Waterford businessperson has set up a company which he says can save property hunters hundreds of euros in legal fees.

Jason Clancy, who previously owned one of the country’s most successful conveyancing firms, is creating jobs in Tramore with his new company – easyfees.ie – which aims to combine the lowest solicitor and estate agent fees into one package.

“This will save time and money as people go through the property-buying process,” says Mr Clancy. “Our team has been working on this for more than a year and we’ve created an independent panel of established and highly reputable local solicitors and estate agents to bring the best rates in the market to its clients.”

LEGAL SERVICES

Jason Clancy spent nearly 30 years at the helm of Corporate Access Legal Services, one of the largest ancillary legal services companies in the country. Speaking at the launch, Jason said: “Buying a property is the single-most expensive time in a person’s life. The time, effort, and stress of buying a home is only compounded by trying to find the best rate for conveyancing solicitors and estate agents. Easyfees.ie takes all of that out of the equation.”

The company says that following an in-depth analysis of the Waterford property market from January-November 2021, Easyfees.ie found that 1,485 property transactions were made. This was made up of 787 First-time buyers, 416 Mover/Purchasers, and 282 Buy-to-let/investors (based on the national market average).   Mr Clancy says that had every property buyer in Waterford for example fully availed of their services, they could have saved the following (based on an average house price of €270,000):

  • First-time buyers: Over €687,000 in total; individual savings of €873 incl. VAT
  • Mover/Purchasers: Over €1 million in total; individual savings to €2,497 incl. VAT & Estate Agent fees
  • Buy-to-let/Investors: Over €245,000 in total; individual savings of €873 incl. VAT

Mr Clancy says that those looking to switch mortgages can also save hundreds on their legal fees with themselves.

The company has set up offices in Tramore and aims to employ up to 30 people by the end of the year and can be contacted at www.easyfees.ie
