Motorcyclists are being urged to slow down and 'ease off the throttle' as bikers speeding is a factor in a third of motorcyclist fatal collisions.

Waterford gardai - and the Road Safety Authority - are currently campaigning for motorcyclists to recognise their vulnerability and responsibility to themselves and their families - and to ride safely.

Males, aged 25-34 typically, are the statistically the biggest offenders when it comes to speeding on motorcycles, and given they have so much less protection than a car driver in a collision, the campaign is encouraging them to beware.
