On Deise Today, Damien Tiernan spoke extensively with CEO of Waterford City & County Council, Michael Walsh on a number of issues.

Mr. Walsh joined Damien in studio as news broke of an end to a 14-year dispute which could see Dunnes Stores enter Ferrybank Shopping Centre as the anchor tenant by Christmas.

Also on the agenda were the pressing topics of the North Quays development, as well as the recent 5th birthday of the now internationally-renowned Waterford Greenway.

Damien discussed the controversial proposal to construct 218 houses on lands at Duckspool against the wishes of the Council - and the implications that may have for a landmark state-of-the-art facility for the Waterford Ladies' Gaelic Football Association.

An RTE Investigates programme recently revealed that a Waterford Council employee used a local authority credit card to make €700 worth of personal purchases in August 2019 - and Mr. Walsh explained to listeners why that matter was not reported to Gardai.
