Ryanair have committed to having talks with Waterford Airport if and when the runway extension is built.

That's according to William Bolster, Executive at Waterford Airport who was speaking on the Deise Today show this morning (Monday) following the announcement of significant private sector funding on Friday last.

William Bolster, who has been one of the main shareholders in the Killowen facility, told Damien Tiernan that Ryanair had openly said they would have discussions about operating flights out of Waterford Airport if the runway is delivered.

In a wide-ranging interview, he also detailed the current ownership and board structure at the airport; spoke about the new involvement of the billionaire Galway Comer Brothers AND discussed when it's hoped developments - including the first commercial flights from the airport - will happen.
