The majority of patients have now been evacuated from Wexford General Hospital following a fire at the site last night.
WLR News understands 27 patients have already been transferred to University Hospital Waterford, with at least 15 expected later.
The Emergency Department at Wexford is to remain closed for the rest of the week - meaning the nearest EDs will be at UHW and St Luke's in Kilkenny.
University Hospital Waterford's General Manager, Grace Rothwell, spoke to Damien Tiernan on Déise Today about their response to the emergency and the knock-on effects for the local hospital.
