A GoFundMe for a young mother-of-four Jamie Phelan who is fighting a rare and extremely aggressive brain tumour, now stands at over 140,000 euro - thanks to huge public support in Waterford and beyond.

32 year old Jamie was only weeks after giving birth to her fourth child last February when she was diagnosed with the Grade 4 tumour which has a life expectancy of approx. 12-18 months from diagnosis.

Setting up a GoFundMe for Jamie

Jamie's friends - who want to help her every opportunity to prolong her time with her husband and children - set up the GoFundMe this week. They are trying to raise 200,000 in total so that Jamie can access additional treatments to prolong her life, specifically a new immunotherapy treatment called DCVax. The sum raised is currently at 143,000 as of this morning (Friday).

Jamie is married to Danny Windor and together they have four children - Liam (7), Tadhg (5), Tara (2) and baby Fiadh, who is just eight months old now.
