Will Ireland ever win the Eurovision again? Do Waterford people still watch it?

These were some of the topics discussed on Déise Today this morning, as Damien was joined in studio by reporter Jayde Maher, and Eurovision aficianado Kolyn Ryan Byrne.

Ireland is among the countries bidding to qualify for the final in Turin on Saturday night, when Brook Scullion takes to the stage this evening for the second of the semis.

The 23-year-old singer, who was third on The Voice UK in 2020, is representing her country with her pop break-up track That’s Rich.

Norway, Switzerland, Armenia, Iceland, Lithuania, Portugal, Greece, Moldova and Netherlands also qualified.

The UK Spain, Germany, France and Italy have automatic qualification.

The final will be held on Saturday night in Turin, Italy.
