Nataliia is a nurse in Dnipro, Ukraine, who has friends in Waterford.

She spoke to Damien Déise Today  about the current situation in her country, describing it as much worse than a nightmare, adding that most people in the 21st century couldn't imagine we would have a war like this.

"I always thought that Europe was the most calm and stable region of the world, and now we have a war because Russia has invaded Ukraine, and attacked us with bombs," she said.

Nataliia described it as "just unbearable" to see little children run towards bomb shelters.

She explained to Damien that schools and kindergartens are currently closed, and her family relies on her to decide on what actions to take next.
