The duo from Fanzini Productions, the Dublin-based street theatre company were recently in residence at the Spraoi workshops in Waterford, where they shared ideas and experiences.
What happened during Fanzini's Waterford visit?
Kim and Con stayed at the Spraoi studios for three weeks, creating and rehearsing their new show Spailp – which will be seen at events in Ireland from May and internationally next year.
Con and Kim are no strangers to Spraoi; their street show Circus Jukebox featured at the 2015 festival.
What is "Spailp?"
This new show by Fanzini Productions is a fresh departure. It’s based in a pop-up tent and audiences will enter a world of different experiences for an entertaining encounter with the performers. Con and Kim told me that it's a really fun interactive experience for audiences.
They wanted to create a new concept, where small audience groups, perhaps ten at a time, could step away from the festival outside the tent’s doors and into an imaginative space where something original and unexpected happened for five minutes of their day.
You'll get to experience it for yourself at this year's Spraoi Festival.
Con and Kim gave their thoughts on Spraoi
They said they were honoured to be at the workshops in Waterford, sharing ideas with such a renowned street theatre company. Kim described Spraoi to me as the 'Champions League' of street theatre!

And have a listen below to Kim and Con's chat with me about all things Spraoi about about Fanzini's own show Spailp, which will be at many other festivals over the coming months too...
