Waterford might be out of the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, but we’re still in the running to be Ireland’s Cleanest City! There are 8 areas in the city that need tackling, but we need your help. We need 8 of the city's sporting clubs to pull up their socks, adopt a street and help Keep Waterford Beautiful with WLR, Tom Murphy Volkswagen and Waterford Council.

Each of the 8 chosen clubs will receive €500 for their participation thanks to Tom Murphy Volkswagen.

What's required?

  • The chosen clubs will each be assigned an area to tidy, and a date to do so between now and the end of August.
  • The Street Cleans will be held weekly and each club will be given their assigned date in advance.
  • Once every club has participated in their initial Street Clean, there will be one simultaneous clean before the judging takes place in August.
  • Waterford Council will supply bags, litter pickers, gloves etc so your club doesn't need to bring anything
  • You don't need to be a member of the club to take part in the Street Clean.

A final Street Clean will take place in August after each club has completed their initial clean. Judging will take place after the final clean, and the overall awards will be held in Tom Murphy Volkswagen on Wednesday the 22nd of August.
