Met Eireann is warning of hazardous conditions right across the country this morning.
A yellow alert for snow and ice has been in place overnight, and is valid up until midday.
The forecaster is warning of snow showers in the southwest, west and north, while icy conditions are expected in all areas.
But Alan O'Reilly from Carlow Weather isn't expecting the cold snap to last long.

Meanwhile drivers are being warned it can take up to ten times longer to stop in snow or icy conditions.
