There are fears for hundreds of jobs at a Waterford meat factory over protests by beef farmers.
WLR News understands that workers at Dawn Meats in Grannagh have been put on protective notice.
Hundreds of beef farmers are staging 24-hour rolling pickets in Grannagh and at ABP in Ferrybank.
They're calling for better prices to be paid for their produce.
Lorries carrying cattle have been prevented from entering either facility since the protests began last Tuesday.
It's understood around 150 operatives at Dawn Meats were issued with a letter today, before being sent home, saying the actions of protestors have left the company with no reasonable alternative.

An earlier version of this article referred to the truck in the picture as a 'cattle truck'. We have since been informed that it was carrying pigs and although it was stopped by protesters it was then allowed into the factory. We are happy to clarify this.
