Two units of the Waterford Fire Service attended a small fire at the WIT College Street campus this morning.
The fire broke out shortly before 11.00am.
Some smoke damage was caused to one art room in the building.
The College Street campus will be closed for the rest of the day for health & safety and operational reasons.

"Waterford Institute of Technology can confirm there was a fire on its College Street Campus today.
"Critical incident protocols have been followed, emergency services arrived onsite and the fire has been put out.
"For health and safety and operation reasons the College Street Campus is closed for the rest of the day."
