"West Waterford is forgotten. The County seems to end at Dungarvan. From Dungarvan onwards, we don't seem to see any of the benefits. I don't feel we do," one local resident said.

Lismore residents gathered on Friday, the 20th September to protest regarding various water issues that have affected the town.

Local business and residents were joined by Sinn Féin Councillors from the Dungarvan / Lismore district.

Cllr Donnchadh Mulcahy outlined what has been occurring in the area.

"It's ongoing in Lismore. Whether it's turning water on and off at times when kids are getting ready for school or not having any water pressure."

The Tallow Cllr outlined the length of time the issue has persisted.

"It's been going on quite a while in Lismore and surrounding areas and the people of Lismore have just had enough. We deserve better from Irish Water. I'm blue in the face from emailing them."

Cllr Conor McGuinness called for stronger action from the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage.

"I think this is a political issue because we have Minister Darragh O'Brien who's really not holding them to account, who's not taking them to task, who needs to be asking the questions and that needs to change," Cllr McGuinness said.

"We have no such forum - a public, open, democratic forum where we can hold Uisce Éireann to account - we don't have it. It doesn't exist and that's by design, not by accident."
