The family of a Waterford man missing for 10 weeks now have issued a fresh appeal for information.

29-year-old Brian Kinsella went missing on Wednesday the 17th of November in Waterford City.

Extensive searches have been carried out ever since.

Brian is 6 foot tall, of slim build, with fair hair and brown eyes.

Describing his last known movements, his sister Geraldine told WLR, "He was going into town to sort out his new phone and we just know that he never ended up going to the phone shop and he was seen walking past the Credit Union at about 20 to 10 there in Summerhill.

"Then he was seen walking out the direction of Bilberry at about 10 past 10.

"We believe that he was heading out the Greenway direction but there's just never been any other sightings of him... He just vanished."

"Everyday is horrible"

It has been a torturous ten weeks for Brian's family.

Geraldine says they'll never forget Christmas just gone:

"It was horrible. Everyday is horrible. But we're just trying to stay positive - that's what we want at the end of it; just a positive outcome, if possible.

"We're just praying that he's out there and that he comes home and sees how everyone is looking for him and how much everyone cares about him."

In their first radio interview, Geraldine, along with her sister Jennifer, said they're doing their best to keep his name and image out there:

"It's all over Facebook and Instagram and we've posters up around the shops in town. Even in petrol stations down around Dungarvan and you know, just different places.

"But maybe just having something on the radio so even if he was somewhere and could hear the radio - or if anybody has seen him that mightn't necessarily be on social media, that they would know of him and might get in contact with somebody."

Staying positive

Since Brian's disappearance, the community's response has been phenomenal, his family says. Among the groups conducting regular searches for him is Waterford Marine Search and Rescue.

They have been posting near-daily updates on their efforts to locate Brian.

Geraldine is pleading for anyone with information on her brother to come forward:

"His family and friends are very concerned and miss him terribly. If anybody has seen him, make contact with somebody.

"We'd love to know that he's safe, if he is out there.

"We're just trying to stay positive that he is there. We really want him home."

Waterford Garda Station can be reached on 051 305300 and the Garda Confidential Line is 1800 666 111.

Geraldine and Jennifer Kinsella's interview will feature on Déise Today (January 28th) shortly after 10am.
