Waterford's two vacant council seats will be filled this evening.

Fianna Fáil have been without two representatives on the council since the sudden passing of sitting Deputy Mayor, James Tobin in July, and the resignation of Eddie Mulligan in August.

The late Councillor Tobin's daughter, Mairéad, is expected to be unopposed at a convention in Tallow this evening.

Meanwhile, candidates Declan Barry and Stephanie Keating are both in the running for Waterford City East.

Voting there will take place in the Tower Hotel later.
