Some of Waterford’s much-loved tourist attractions will be hitting our television screens this evening (Sunday) as part of Virgin Media One’s latest tourism series, ‘Ciara & Jon’s Roadtrip Reality’.

The popular show which is hosted by husband-and-wife team Jon Slattery and Ciara Whelan is a six part series, giving viewers an insight into some of the best places to visit in Ireland this summer.

On Sunday, May 8th and 15th at 6 pm, the show will follow Ciara, Jon, and their three little girls as they make their way to the Sunny South East where they explore Waterford City and County, shining a light on some of its popular and lesser known attractions.

Full of new travel tips and tricks, the series shows the real-life and hilarious situations the family gets into, why the simple moments are those that matter most, and of course, just how brilliant Ireland and destinations like Waterford really are.

Speaking about the show, David McCoy, Chairman of Visit Waterford said, “We were delighted to welcome ‘Ciara & Jon’s Roadtrip Reality’ to Waterford recently.

"The show is a fantastic opportunity to showcase what our wonderful city and county has to offer as a staycation destination to a very large audience.

"Whether you’re travelling across the country to Waterford or you live 10 minutes down the road, there is so much to do and see.

"The business and attractions behind Waterford’s tourism and hospitality have been working very hard in preparation for summer 2022 and we very much look forward to seeing Waterford on our screens soon.”

Tonight, they'll be showcasing Ardmore Glamping Pods and owner, Bridget Collins, says she was delighted to host them.

She told Déise Today during the week that it is fantastic publicity for Ardmore as a whole:

"They had a great time. They're lovely - they're gas out!

"It's great to see them travelling around Ireland and especially Waterford.

"They came in on the Saturday evening [back in March] and stayed in the largest glamping pod that sleeps up to seven people.

"Then on the Sunday morning, they cooked breakfast and visited the mini-zoo, where they did petting time and walked around and met some of their favourite animals.

"Oh sure, it was great to get the advertising out of it!"
