Waterford actor Jamie Beamish is set to star in 'Toy Show: The Musical' this December.
Jamie will play the role of Dad, the father of the lead character of the musical Nell.
The brand-new musical opens on December 10th at The Convention Centre, Dublin.
The show is the brainchild of a Waterford producer, Catherine Drohan, and Jane Murphy.
Jamie told WLR how he was approached to take part around the same time as his concert in Theatre Royal.
He got an email saying, 'We'd be interested in talking to you about Toy Show: The Musical.'
"I started getting involved, they were doing a workshop so I went and got involved with that," Jamie said.
Toy Show: The Musical will take place on the 10th of December. Rehearsals are to begin at the end of this month.
Jamie believes six weeks sounds like a lot of time to prepare but when you have three teams of 12 kids, six weeks "suddenly isn't a lot."
Despite this, he is looking forward to it, knowing he will "have the craic."
