A Waterford dog has been giving emergency services in Waterford a hand over the past number of days, as he prepares for this year's 'Nose of Tralee' competition.
Hero - a Shiba Inu -visited Waterford City River Rescue and Waterford City Fire Service this week on his campaign trail as well as Waterford Gardaí's Divisional Headquarters in Ballybricken.
The two-year-old was selected out of 6,000 pets in the country for the competition and will represent the Déise in the final selection which includes 30 dogs and two cats.
In his entry, his owner Michelle Whelan said the pup 'has the superpower to make anyone smile' and his hobbies include 'zooming around his grandparents back garden and squeaking his favourite dinosaur teddy.'
