Over 100 students representing 12 schools are competing at the Waterford Student Enterprise Awards.
They're showcasing the businesses they developed, branded, promoted and sold at an event at the WIT area today.
The 2018/19 Waterford Student Enterprise Programme started in September with 1,000 students from 15 schools in Waterford City and County.
Josh Flynn is from Ardscoil na Mara, his group created a silicone pocket to stick to a phone to hold a student or credit card.
"There was a lot of work put into it. We had to order them from China and they took a while to come.
"We had to look for buyers and handle all the money.
"We thought it would all be easy, that they would just sell themselves but there was a bit of work in it."
Shazim and his classmates from Newtown School are teaching french to primary school students.
"The reason we're doing it because when we were in first year we found it hard to get to grips with French.
"We think it's important for younger people, it will be much easier for them to get the hang of it if they learn modern day languages in primary school."
Faye Tubrit from St Declan's Community College created an app which is available to download on the play store.
"The idea is that you point your phone at any printed media or any 3D object and it brings it to life using augmented reality.
"It can be used mainly for advertising."
