Waterford Train Station has been closed until further notice due to flooding this evening (Thursday).
The 16:40 Heuston to Waterford train had to be held in Kilkenny after it was deemed unsafe to try and bring the train into Plunkett Station.

Bus transfers were provided for those passengers and for those on the 17:35 and 18:35 services.
However, the 18:25 service from Waterford heading to Heuston did manage to run, but with a 12 minute delay.
This is the second time in recent weeks that services at the local station have been impacted in this manner.
A status yellow weather warning had been in place for Waterford earlier today, while very heavy rainfall was experienced in the city at points during the afternoon and evening.
The water tables remain quite high because of the downpours experienced across the county recently.
