A Waterford TD says new Government measures to tackle the spread of coronavirus don't go far enough.
Thousands of more people will stay at home from work today after new restrictions on the retail sector.
Those remaining open include food shops, pharmacies and hardware stores.
Factories and construction sites remain open but are being asked to put in place measures to allow social distancing.
Theatres, clubs, marts and bingo halls are among a list of businesses are now closed.
There's been some criticism of the decision to keep construction sites and factories open
Sinn Féin's David Cullinane says thousands of workers will still be going to unsafe workplaces:
"Workers and families are being placed at risk, we haven't seen a full shutdown of all non-essential business activity.
"I think this is the government dragging their heels which is not a solution.
"People who work in factories, people who work in call centres and people who work in construction are looking for a common-sense approach to this.
"They want to keep themselves and their families safe and much more needs to be done in all of this."
Last night, the government upgraded payments to workers who've lost their job due to Covid-19 to €350.
It also committed to temporarily pay 70% of workers salaries up to €410 a week.
However, Deputy Cullinane says the payments for people left without work aren't adequate:
"Sinn Fein also proposed much more income supports and a guarantee of 100% of income up to €525 a week for workers and the self-employed and what the government announced has again fallen short.
"This is not a time for half-measures, this is a time to marshall the resources of the state and to ensure that all workers are properly protected."
