A man in his twenties has been arrested following a stabbing incident in Waterford City yesterday.
The incident occurred at 7.15pm on Broad Street.
A woman in her thirties was treated for an apparent stab wound and was taken to University Hospital Waterford.
The man was arrested at the scene and is currently being detained at Waterford Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984. Investigations are ongoing.

Meanwhile, Gardai also attended the scene of an alleged assault in Connolly Place, Waterford in the early hours of Saturday morning at 4.40am.
A man was treated at the scene by paramedics but no arrests have been made at this time. Investigations are ongoing into this incident.
