Over half a million euro in government funding has been allocated for permanent weather-resistant facilities, for a longer outdoor dining season in Waterford.
It is part of a €9m project across 19 counties, from the Department of Tourism and Fáilte Ireland
The Waterford City Trail which includes Bailey's New Street, to O'Connell Street and John Street has been granted €354,919.
While Grattan Square in Dungarvan will receive €151,774 under the Fáilte Ireland part two funding.
Chief executive of Fáilte Ireland, Paul Kelly, says the structures will be helpful, particularly when the weather turns:
"This will develop enhanced weather-resistant outdoor dining so it will effectively enable people to outdoor dine, in various areas around the country.
"Not only will the facilities allow people to dine outside for longer in the season, but they will also be suitable for the Irish climate," he said.
