The coolest attraction is the hottest ticket in town for the annual Winterval Festival as the ultimate skating experience returns with Waterford on Ice to the City’s quayside from November 17th to January 2024.

Waterford on Ice will be situated in the heart of Waterford City and brings the magic of the North Pole to the Southeast, ensuring an exceptional and fun-filled experience for all levels of ice skaters.

Waterford on Ice will be on hand to make your skating day one to remember.  Catering to all, penguin skating aids will be provided for the little ones, along with trained Ice marshals and helpful skating staff all working together to ensure a safe and fun day out for families, large groups, and school groups.

This cool event is one of many that will see  Waterford rocking the festive season as a host of Winterval festive events will be on offer from November 17th to December 23rd. Already, top secret visits have been taking place right under the noses of the people of Waterford as Santa has made preliminary visits to Ireland’s Christmas Festival to ensure his elves are carrying out all of his tip-top plans for his candy-filled Gingerbread House in the city centre for Winterval. The Winterval elves have been super busy and they will be ready to welcome boys and girls to visit Santa from November 17th.

At Ireland’s Christmas Festival, there will be plenty to see and do as the festival organisers are planning another Winterval extravaganza with all of the festival’s firm favourites including the Waterford Illuminates light show, the Winterval Christmas Market, live music gigs, and lots more set to dazzle and delight. The Winterval Choral Trail has also been recently announced, this event will see the Irish Doctor’s Choir present Samson, Home Alone screened with live score by the National Symphony Orchestra, The Armed Man of Peace take place at St John’s Church & the Lions Club Christmas Concert on offer at the Cathedral.
