The Aperee Living nursing home in Ballygunner, that was temporarily taken over by health authorities last month is to be put up for sale, according to the Irish Independent.
The nursing home has been vacant since last week when the last of its 44 residents were moved by the HSE to alternative accommodation, which includes two new centres in Tramore and Waterford City.
A filing made with the Companies Office shows joint receivers Andrew Byrne and James Anderson, both of Deloitte, were appointed to take control of the property on October 20th by lender AIB, which had a mortgage on the home.
It is understood they’re likely to seek expressions of interest in the property which sits on its own site backing onto farmland on the outskirts of Waterford City, adjacent to a wider retirement living campus that also includes a number of houses and apartments, which are still occupied by residents.
