Waterford man accused of murder to apply for bail through the High Court

A 34-year-old Waterford man has been remanded in custody on suspicion of the murder of 47-year-old Gillian Curran. Ms. Curran is originally from Tramore.

Marcus O'Neill, represented by solicitor Hilary Delahunty, appeared via video link in Waterford District Court today from Cloverhill Prison.

The 34-year-old, with an address at 15 O’Brien Street, Waterford appeared before Gorey District Court on Sunday evening at 8pm.

An application for bail through the High Court is being prepared, and to facilitate this, Mr O'Neill is being remanded in custody for a further 4 weeks.

He will appear via videolink on February 25th for production of the Book of Evidence.

Judge Cephas Power ordered that two outstanding matters before the courts in relation to the accused can travel with him to be dealt with on that date also.
