People in Waterford looking to turn their idea into a business can avail of locally held workshops. The Waterford Local Enterprise Office is running multiple workshops over the coming months, for entrepreneurs and already existing small business owners. The next event is starting on January 17th in Waterford City.

Speaking to WLR News, Business Advisor at the Local Enterprise Office, David Walsh, says starting a business can be confusing for some.

"A lot of people might need help with developing a business plan, they also lack confidence, and they might not even know the fundamentals of what they need to do to start a business.

"We think this is a perfect stepping stone for that. If anybody wants a longer more intensive start your own business course, we have those too.

"We have one starting this month, it's on during the day in person at the Viking Hotel, but in February we have an online one in the evening to cater to everybody due to different schedules."

The Waterford LEO will run multiple workshops throughout the year that have proved popular in previous years, where people are encouraged to come forward with no idea too big or small.

"The new year often brings a fresh perspective and opportunity to explore new ventures", David continued, "I'm sure many people would love the idea of working for themselves and being their boss, doing something they are passionate about. We are running a workshop on the 17th of January titled bringing your business idea to life. We think it is a perfect opportunity for people to come in, and chat about their business.

"No idea is too big too small, too silly. It's open to everyone no matter where you are on your business journey.
