Gardaí in Waterford are reminding people to conduct a security review on their property.
It's in an attempt to ensure homes are safe and secure before people leave them.
Speaking to this week's Waterford Garda Watch, Tramore Garda Brian Quirke had this message:
"Notify neighbours and possibly Gardaí that you're leaving the area."

On the Garda.ie website there is a range of useful tools to help ensure your property is secured.
It includes a home security checklist and a synopsis of what you should be looking for.
