Gardai in County Waterford say they've already seized fireworks in the run-up to Halloween.
Operation Tombola - to tackle the illegal use of fireworks - is underway.
Sergeant Mark Mills is from Tramore Garda Station
"Fireworks are particularly dangerous, we've had some seizures in Tramore recently, I would expect to have some more.
"We're trying to get the message out to parents, schools and pupils in schools about the dangers."
Sergeant Mills added that there are consequences if you're caught in possession of fireworks.
"The Criminal Justice Act 2006 makes it a serious enough offence, you can receive a hefty fine."
