Waterford Council seek to acquire ownership of Tramore Pier

Waterford City and County Council are seeking to secure ownership of Tramore Pier.

This comes as a Compulsory Purchase Order has been sought for more than one hectare of land in the Newtown area.

A large plot of land stretching from just below the Lifeboat Station at the Pier is to be acquired by Waterford Council.

Currently zoned as Open Space and Recreation, the land measures just over one hectare.

Waterford Council have stated their intention of securing the ownership and control of the harbour lands and environs going forward.

Owners, lesees and occupiers of the land have been issued individual written notices.

Submissions and observations on the acquisition can be send in writing to An Bord Pleanala by Friday, September 27th.
