A Waterford group has warned the public of a scam fair which it's claimed will take place at a local community centre.
Carbally Community Development Project has alerted the public to a Facebook post advertising a summer fair which it's claimed will take place at the Carbally Community Centre on September 28th and 29th.
The notice advertises stalls for €30 a day and €55 for both days and lists the types of stalls suitable for the event and includes booking details.
However, members of the Development Project say they have no knowledge of this event or the person behind the post.
A spokesperson for Carbally Community Development Project said: "We've noticed that a post about a Summer Fair is currently circulating on Facebook. We want to clarify that the Carbally Community Development Centre has no knowledge of this event or the person behind the post. It appears to be a scam where the individual might request upfront payment before disappearing with the money. Please be cautious and remember that the Carbally Community Centre is not associated with this post or any such event."
