Waterford City rents have risen by 7.4 per cent according to the latest Daft.ie Rental Price Report which covers the final three months of 2024.
The average rent in Waterford City is now €1,651.
In the rest of Waterford, market rents were on average 10 per cent higher in the final three months of 2024 than a year previously.
The average listed rent is now €1,646, which is up 70 per cent from the level prevailing when the Covid-19 pandemic occurred.
Nationally, market rents rose by an average of 5.7 per cent during 2024 - down slightly from the 6.8 per cent increase seen in 2023.
On February 1st, there were fewer than 2,300 homes available to rent across the country, down one quarter on the same date a year previously and well below the 2015-2019 average of almost 4,400.
